2024 February West Coast Chicago Benefit Concert

Many thanks to The Surrey Arts Centre, the band, and to all our dear friends of Luke 15 who attended the West Coast Chicago concert. We greatly appreciate your continued and steadfast love and support of Luke 15 House. Seeing our friends of L15 warmed the hearts of our staff and filled us with hope. It was so wonderful to know that there is so much support for what we do to help people trapped in addiction. God Bless you all.

2024 February Students visit from Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School

Yesterday was a day filled with warmth, compassion, and the beautiful spirit of community here at Luke15 House. We were blessed to welcome a group of grade 12 students studying social justice from Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School, accompanied by their Principal, Mr. Len De Julius, and Sister John Peter Clarke. The objective was twofold. For the students to get an understanding of addictions and the recovery process and how addictions impact our society as well as to encourage and provide hope and solidarity to our residents.

It was truly inspiring to witness the genuine connection formed between our residents and the students. The atmosphere was charged with openness and understanding as our residents shared their heartfelt testimonies, allowing their stories to touch the hearts of all who listened. Each narrative was a testament to the power of resilience and the transformative journey of recovery.

The exchange of questions and answers fostered a sense of dialogue and mutual learning, bridging the gap between different walks of life. In the embrace of shared prayers, we found solace and strength, reaffirming our faith in the journey ahead.

Music has a unique ability to uplift the spirit, and yesterday was no exception. Together, we raised our voices in praise and worship, filling the air with melodies of hope and joy. It was a beautiful symphony of unity, transcending barriers and bringing us closer together in harmony.

As the day unfolded, bonds were formed over a simple yet profound act: sharing a meal. Breaking bread together symbolized our shared humanity and the importance of nourishing both body and soul. Laughter, conversation, and companionship filled the room, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come.

To the students, Principal De Julius, and Sister John Peter Clarke, we extend our deepest gratitude for your visit. Your presence brought light into our home, reminding us that we are never alone on this journey. May the seeds of compassion and understanding that were planted yesterday continue to flourish, spreading love and kindness wherever you go.

Thank you for being a beacon of hope and healing in our lives. Together, we are stronger. Together, we can overcome anything. Together, we thrive.

2024 January Former Board chair, Larry Bowen Birthday Party

Former Luke 15 Chairman of the Board, Mr. Larry Bowen, celebrated his 76th birthday here at Luke 15 House. Larry and Catherine are well loved by all staff and clients who came to Luke 15 House. They have both dedicated their lives in serving and supporting people who are lost in addiction, through the love of God. Here is one of the many tributes to Larry on his special day:

" I’m forever blessed to have had this man of God walk into my life to show me the true meaning of determination and perseverance. He’s given me new perspective on life - to be truly grateful instead of focusing on what I lack. Meditating with wonder on Larry’s endurance with a positive attitude through a near-death experience relases me from any tendency to complain about my circumstances. His recent story convinces me that all things truly are possible with God. I’m grateful to have this man and his beautifyl wife in my life. He shows up every week…and so does she! Together, they exemplify faithfulness. “ Jason Stein.
