Larry has served as a member of the board of Luke 15, two past terms as chairman. He now enjoys working with L15 residents as a ‘handy man’, playing his guitar, and singing with them.
He has been married to Catherine for 46 years and they have 2 adult sons.
He obtained a BSc.(Kinesiology) in 1973 and he worked at G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre for 35 years as a therapist. The last 20 years he was the coordinator of the Driver Rehab program. It was his privilege to work with clients from a wide range of disabilities.
Since his retirement from G.F. Strong in 2007 he developed his private practice, Larry Bowen Driver Rehab Inc., continuing to assist clients working toward mobility independence. He is an active certified member of the international Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists, serving on the board in varying positions including secretary, Chairman of Finance, Chairman of Board Development, Chairmen of Membership, and President. Larry served for 20 years, with B.C. Disabled Skiers Association, as an examiner of instructors, coordinator of programs and board member.
He continues with his wife Catherine to participate at the ADED annual conference, offering a Christian Sunday Worship service.
